The course gives students the opportunity to build on the language skills already acquired during the DutchBreginners modules. At the end of Dutch Intermediate, students are expected to speak and understand Dutch in all social circumstances, using advanced language structures and showing an awareness of differences in tone and register. They can write informal as well as formal letters and they can read all but the most complicated Dutch texts without difficulty. They have an insight into aspects of the culture and structure of Dutch and Belgian society.
